Freebiejeebies, usually best known for giving away things for free, such as the free iPhone, have announced a great new competition to win a brand new Ford Fiesta or £5,000 cash (or equivilent if you are from anywhere else in the world) whilst you are referring friends for your free iPhone.

More or less how many sign ups do you need before you can give away a free iphone? Would be nice to know the odds more or less. (Ok it’s free but I still have to spend time signing up).

You need to refer 16 people to receive an iphone. Otherwise, each person you refer is worth £20 if you want a custom order or bank transfer (or equivilent if you are in the US or Canada). Sign up, you’ve nothing to lose!

I just signed up to this referal site. Now, it looked like a really good easy prospect to get a “Free” iphone. But there is simply one fatal flaw. I signed up to “lovefilm” for there 14 day trial. and thought “Jurassic park, this going to be easy. Wrong, It then (lovefilm) told me to select a viewing package. Next bit was the big no-no. You have to give your card info (now i wouldnt have had a problem with doing this myself). But my friends and family i would be refering would. So haw am i supposed to achieve the “Free” gift if people arnet willing to part with thier credit card numbers (even if it is a NO OBLIGATION trial).
If i am wrong, please tell me how so. as i really want to make this work.

Hi John,
Thanks for your comment, you have raised an important point. The first thing to say is that this really is a free trial – it is the one I used when I first signed up. You do have to give your card details because they are hoping you will become a paying customer, and I guess they have to charge you if you run off with 3 of their DVDs!
You can be assured LoveFilm are a massive and trustworthy company so there is nothing to be concerned about. You may even want to remain a customer as I think many people do.
If you really don’t want to give your card details, there are other free offers such as opening an HSBC bank account.
Let me know when you receive your first freebie.

That point about the credit card is very valid, but people have to realise that LoveFilm can’t have you running off with their DVD’s!

I’m slightly reluctant to do this, just because I’ve tried it with other companies and had no prize and real difficulty getting anyone else to sign up.
Until I see testimonials of people who have received their freebie, I will not sign up.

I used this site to get a free notebook. But after completing the offer i was asked to give my credit card number and all details of my credit card. I didn’t found it suitable and thought my credit card can be misused. So i left it. Can u tell me why you guys need the credit card details when its a free gift site.?

@ James, it is not the freebie site asking for your credit card details as they have no need to do this. When you sign up to an offer you sometimes have to give your card details to the offer provider (LoveFilm, the AA, Corel etc). This is perfectly normal and 100% safe, these are reputable companies.

Do i need to complete an offer before making all the referrals? can’t i complete an offer after securing all the referrals and the assurance of the gift which i am opting for. Its really tempting to get into it but somewhere the logical mind says it all phony.There’s a lot that you can win on the site but they are giving gifts worth much more than the service we give which has gotten my mind racing.
